New Dubai-Sharjah Bus Route Launches Soon — Check When

Big news for commuters! Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) just announced that a brand-new intercity bus service between Dubai and Sharjah will kick off on Friday, May 2.

Say hello to Route E308 — this new line will zip you from Stadium Bus Station in Dubai straight to Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah. And the best part? It’ll only cost you Dh12 for a one-way trip.

But wait, there’s more! Starting May 2, several other RTA bus routes are getting a glow-up to make daily rides quicker and comfier.

Here’s the breakdown of the bus route changes:

Route 17: Now ends at Baniyas Square Metro Station instead of Al Sabkha Bus Station.

Route 24: Re-routed through the Al Nahda 1 area.

Route 44: Detours from Al Rebat Street to serve Dubai Festival City.

Route 56: Now extended to reach DWC Staff Village.

Routes 66 & 67: New stop added at Al Ruwayah Farm area.

Route 32C: Service between Al Jafiliya Bus Station and Al Satwa Bus Station cut short. Passengers heading to Al Satwa can hop onto Route F27.

Route C26: Bus stop shifted to Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 2.

Route E16: Now terminates at Union Bus Station instead of Al Sabkha Bus Station.

Route F12: Section between Al Satwa Roundabout and Al Wasl Park is curtailed; rerouted via Kuwait Street.

Route F27: Now operates from Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 2 instead of Al Jafiliya.

Route F47: Tweaked inside the Jebel Ali Industrial Area.

Route F54: Extended to serve the JAFZA South labour camp.

Route X92: Now stopping at Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 1.

Adel Shakeri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, said, “RTA is committed to expanding the public bus network and improving its integration with other transit modes, such as the metro, tram, and marine transport. Enhancing intermodal connectivity is central to positioning public transport as the preferred choice for mobility across the emirate.”

Bottom line? Whether you’re heading to work, meeting friends, or just exploring the city, your public transport experience is about to get a whole lot smoother. Time to plan those bus rides!
