Meet the UAE's First-Ever Miss Universe Representative

For the first time, the United Arab Emirates will participate in the Miss Universe pageant, with Emilia Dobreva, a Dubai-based model and mother of three, set to represent the country. Dobreva was recently crowned as Miss Universe UAE after winning against four other finalists, marking a significant milestone for the nation. She will compete in the 73rd Miss Universe competition in Mexico City on November 16.

A Seasoned Competitor  

Dobreva is no stranger to beauty pageants. She previously won the title of Miss Friendship International in 2019, showcasing her experience in the world of competitive pageantry. The Miss Universe UAE organization praised her for her "elegance, intelligence, and passion for empowering others," calling her an inspiration.

UAE Joins Miss Universe for the First Time  

The UAE’s participation in Miss Universe 2024 was confirmed last month when Indonesian businesswoman Poppy Capella was appointed as the national director for both the UAE and Cyprus by the Miss Universe Organization (MUO). A Fashion Moment  

For her crowning, Dobreva wore a stunning black crystallized mermaid gown designed by Filipino couturier Michael Cinco. The gown, embellished with the UAE and Palestine flags on its neckline, symbolized her heritage and strength.

Harvey Cenit, another renowned Filipino designer based in Dubai, also contributed to Dobreva's wardrobe, designing a gown for her Mouwad Crowning moment. Cenit celebrated this achievement on his social media, reflecting on the pride of contributing to this historic event.

With her elegance and experience, Dobreva is set to make history and bring the UAE to the Miss Universe stage for the first time.
