What’s the Show About?

A Little History of Mamma Mia!

Mamma Mia! first hit the stage in 1999, and it quickly became a sensation. In 2008, it was made into a movie that became the highest-grossing live-action musical film of all time, followed by a sequel 10 years later. Both movies were produced by Judy Craymer, who also created the musical and continues to produce it today.

The magic behind Mamma Mia! comes from the brilliant minds of Judy Craymer (creator and producer), Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus (music and lyrics), Catherine Johnson (writer), Phyllida Lloyd (director), and Anthony Van Laast (choreographer).
