India Successfully Launches Chandrayaan-3 for Mission to the Moon

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched the Chandrayaan-3 mission from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andra Pradesh on Jul. 14.

Chandrayaan means 'moon craft' in Hindi. If the mission is successful, India will be the fourth country in the world, after the US, Russia, and China, to have achieved a soft landing on the Moon

The Chandrayaan-3 launched successfully and has reached orbit around Earth.

After 16 minutes of the launch, the spacecraft separated from the rocket's upper stage.

During the upcoming weeks, the spacecraft will conduct various engine firings to lengthen its orbit before it journeys to the moon.

A landing attempt is scheduled for Aug. 23 or Aug. 24.

It is India's second attempt is launching a spacecraft to travel to the moon after the failure of the 2019 mission, which ended in a crash.

Many people congratulated ISRO for the successful launch including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

The Indian population's happiness is over the moon for achieving this milestone!
