Hit Show Stuns in $12M Dubai World Cup Victory at Meydan

In a dramatic twist no one saw coming, Hit Show galloped to victory in the 2025 Dubai World Cup, claiming the prestigious $12 million prize at Meydan Racecourse on Saturday, April 5.

The final showdown of the evening, which saw Florent Geroux in the saddle, unfolded over a 2,000m stretch of dirt and delivered all the thrill and adrenaline Dubai’s horse racing scene is known for.

Despite high expectations and major buzz surrounding Japanese favorite Forever Young, the frontrunner fell short, finishing third—leaving stunned fans and bettors buzzing across the grandstands.

The G1 race, sponsored by Emirates, ended with His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, officially crowning Hit Show as the night’s ultimate champion.

But the glory wasn’t just for the international names—Saeed bin Suroor’s Dubai Future and Ahmad bin Harmash’s Dark Saffron racked up thrilling wins, fueling homegrown pride at a packed Meydan.

As fireworks lit up the skyline and drones danced in sync, the night ended on a dazzling high. Between the elite horseracing, celeb-spotting, and sky-high spectacle, the 29th edition of the Dubai World Cup delivered pure magic from start to finish.
