Here's Why Rekha's Debut Photoshoot With Vogue Arabia Went Viral

Rekha, the 68-year-old Bollywood icon, was featured on her first Vogue (Arabia) cover, and pictures from the photoshoot have gone viral.

The photoshoot's breathtaking images of her, which were published on July 3rd, broke the internet for a number of reasons. It was her first one-on-one interview in more than 20 years. The internet also can't get enough of the glam she exudes in regal outfits.

"I have always lived like an Indian princess, not that anyone is privy to it. I live like that because I feel it. It's not just a state of mind, but the state of my life," she said.

Rekha poses opulently on the cover of the magazine and sits down for a tete-a-tete that is referred to as "a rare sitting with Bollywood's eternal icon" while wearing a variety of ensembles created by Manish Malhotra, the top fashion designer for the Hindi film industry.

The combination of Indian and Arabian fashions is the theme of the outfits, which have an aura of royalty. There are some European touches, particularly in the headgear.

Rekha said, “Manish moved heaven and earth to craft my vision into clothes. To have him leave everything and work tirelessly with me like a wise, patient pujari [priest], I couldn’t have asked for a better executioner of my dreams.”
