Here are the Ramadan 2025 Canon Locations in Sharjah

The time for iftar is announced by the firing of a cannon during Ramadan, and the Sharjah Police have announced 10 locations for the iftar cannon in Sharjah this year.

The iftar cannons will be located at the following locations:

  • Al Majaz Waterfront 
  • Muwailih Suburb Council 
  • Al Siouh Suburb Council

  • Al Hamriya Suburb Council
  • Al Dhaid Fort 
  • Al Naeem Mosque

  • Khorfakkan Amphitheatre
  • Dibba Al Hisn

Ramadan is expected to begin on Saturday, Mar. 1 and the UAE has called on Muslims to sight the crescent for Ramadan on Friday evening, Feb. 28.

The tradition of firing cannons to announce the start of iftar began in Egypt during the 10th century.
