Happy Mario Day!

March 10th celebrates a gaming icon that you probably didn’t think of, Mario from Super Mario Brothers!
The date was chosen because when abbreviated, Mar10 (March 10) looks like it says, Mario! On this day, various celebrations take place on the Nintendo platforms and stores which allow you to celebrate this day to fit your own needs.

Who produced Mario?

Shigeru Miyamoto, the producer and game director of Nintendo is the creator of various popular games, including Super Mario Brothers, Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, etc. His creative work is what brought Nintendo to take over the gaming market, and ultimately make Mario a gaming icon!

How to celebrate Mario day?

If you’re looking for a way to celebrate the national holiday, here are a few suggestions that could hype you up for the day:

• Since 1985, Mario Kart has become a home-essential game that all generations have enjoyed with their loved ones, you can complete the tradition by introducing the newer installments to your family this Mario Day! 
• If you want to play some of the games, you can find various sales on the Nintendo Store on Mario Branded games, such as originals or even newer releases just in time for Mario Day! You can try out new experiences with Super Mario Maker, enjoy one of their feel-good games like Bowser’s Fury, or even play at home with family and friends with a Super Mario Party installment. The games are available on platforms such as the Apple / Playstore and Nintendo Consoles.
• Nintendo has even collaborated with Lego to make Super Mario Lego interactive pieces for all kids to enjoy! The Mario Lego piece has a sound-sensor and a screen-input that interacts along your custom Mario World to give you either coins or Power Ups!
• If you’re looking to spend national Mario Day in style, you can find merchandise in most retail stores and anywhere online with a few clicks of a button. It is a great way to buy a loved one or yourself a Super Mario Gift that could vary from figurines, shirts, cups, all the way even to socks! The price ranges vary depending on the product, but it can be an affordable thoughtful gift that will be remembered!
• One great way to spend Mario Day would be to spend it at Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan. Imagine spending your day exploring an entire amusement park filled with references, interactive games, merchandise, toys, and even meals that are entirely Super Mario Themed! The experience is tailored to the visitor, where you’re given a Power-Up Band that lets you interact with yellow question mark blocks that you can get awards based on your luck and skill! Additionally at Super Nintendo World, you can meet your favorite characters at the park, such as Peach, Mario, and even the timid Luigi at the park. It definitely isn’t an experience you want to miss.
• If you can’t go to Universal Studios Japan, don’t worry! Every day we get close to the opening of the Super Nintendo World opening in Hollywood and Orlando’s Universal Studios which is dated to open in 2025.
