Gang Busted in Dubai for Hajj and Umrah Visa Scam

A gang has been arrested in Dubai for running a fraudulent scheme that scammed unsuspecting people by offering fake Hajj and Umrah visas at discounted rates.

Dubai Police, in an official statement, revealed that the gang lured victims through social media ads, promoting “low prices and quick visa processing” with convenient payment plans. Posing as authorized agents, they deceived people into making bank transfers, after which they blocked the victims and vanished with the money.

Authorities are urging the public to secure pilgrimage visas only through licensed travel agencies within the UAE. They also advised exercising caution when encountering unrealistically cheap deals online and emphasized the importance of reporting suspicious ads or fraudulent activities via official channels.

This latest crackdown highlights Dubai Police’s ongoing efforts to combat cybercrime and protect residents from online scams, particularly those targeting religious pilgrims.
