Emirates to Become World's First Autism-Certified Airline

Flying just got a lot more inclusive! Emirates is set to make history as the world’s first autism-certified airline, with official recognition from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) expected soon.

To achieve this milestone, the airline is training over 30,000 cabin crew and ground staff to better support neurodiverse travelers. At least 80% of customer-facing staff will complete the specialized program, which tackles autism misconceptions, individual needs, and sensory triggers, ensuring tailored support for every traveler.

Next-Level Accessibility

Emirates is taking accessibility to new heights in 2025 with innovative services. These include:

Sensory guides and digital tools to navigate sensory environments like sound, lighting, and smells.

Neurodiverse-friendly products such as fidget toys to reduce stress and maintain focus during flights.

The airline has already been recognized as a Certified Autism Centre for its four Dubai check-in facilities, including its hub in Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport.

As part of its ongoing commitment to inclusivity, Emirates is redefining travel for everyone—proving that the sky is truly the limit.
