Emirates Expands to Shenzhen, Da Nang, and Siem Reap

Emirates is expanding its footprint in East Asia with the launch of three new destinations—Shenzhen in China, Da Nang in Vietnam, and Siem Reap in Cambodia—starting June 2025.

The airline will introduce daily non-stop flights to Shenzhen from July 1, along with four weekly services to Da Nang from June 2 and three weekly flights to Siem Reap from June 3, with both cities connected via Bangkok.

With this expansion, Emirates now operates 269 weekly flights from Dubai to 24 destinations across East Asia, making it the largest non-Asian airline in the region. Shenzhen will become Emirates’ fourth gateway into mainland China, while Da Nang marks its third destination in Vietnam, and Siem Reap its second in Cambodia.

Strengthening Global Connectivity

Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer Adnan Kazim highlighted the airline’s commitment to connecting East Asia with the world:

“We remain committed to offering business and leisure travellers unparalleled access to Southeast Asia and the broader East Asia region by delivering an extensive flight schedule. Our expansion into Shenzhen opens new doors for business and economic exchange between this technological powerhouse and global markets.”

Shenzhen will be the first Chinese destination served by Emirates’ retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER, featuring First Class private suites, lie-flat Business Class seats, Premium Economy cabins, and spacious Economy seating.

Kazim also emphasized the strategic importance of Vietnam, especially after the UAE and Vietnam signed the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA):

“Our decision to expand operations to Da Nang as our third point in Vietnam comes at an opportune moment… We are confident that our new service will elevate the existing bilateral trade and commercial collaboration between our nations.”

Boosting Tourism & Trade

Siem Reap, home to the world-famous Angkor Wat, is expected to see a surge in tourism with Emirates’ entry. Kazim noted:

“With the addition of these new gateways, we’re strengthening our links, giving customers more choice, offering an unparalleled onboard experience, and ensuring seamless and convenient connections to China’s largest cities, Vietnam’s emerging economic hubs, and Cambodia’s cultural treasures.”

On the cargo front, Emirates SkyCargo will uplift 10 tonnes of cargo per flight between Shenzhen and Dubai, catering to high-tech exports, electronics, and e-commerce. Shenzhen, a key technology and manufacturing hub, is expected to benefit from the airline’s extensive global freight network.

With these new routes, Emirates continues to expand its world-class services, reinforcing Dubai’s status as a key global aviation hub and strengthening ties between the Middle East and East Asia.
