Emirates Astronomical Society Predicts Eid Al Adha to Begin on June 28

Emarat Al Youm's report, which referred to a forecast by the chairman of the Emirates Astronomical Society, Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, stated that Wednesday, June 28 is the anticipated date for the occurrence of Eid Al Adha.

Al-Jarwan predicted that the new crescent for the month of Dhu al-Hijjah will appear on Sunday, June 18 at 08:37 AM (UAE time), and it will be 10 hours and 33 minutes old by sunset on the same day.

At a height of five degrees above the western horizon, the new crescent will be visible and is expected to set approximately 29 minutes after sunset.

Based on his astronomical calculations, Al-Jarwan clarified that Dhu Al Hijjah will be on Monday, June 19, the day of Arafat will be on Tuesday, June 27, and Eid Al Adha will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 28.

Al-Jarwan stated that if the age of the moon at sunset exceeds 15 hours, it is highly likely that there will be an agreement to begin the new month. However, if the moon is not visible before sunset or it sets before sunset, there will be an agreement not to commence the new month.
