Eid Al-Fitr 2025: UAE, Qatar, Kuwait Confirm Eid Celebration

The United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Kuwait have officially announced that Eid Al-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, March 30, 2025, marking the end of Ramadan.

The announcements came after moon-sighting committees in the three Gulf countries confirmed the sighting of the Shawwal crescent on Saturday evening. This means that Saturday, March 29, is the last day of fasting, and Eid Al-Fitr will begin on Sunday with morning prayers and family gatherings.

Government offices, schools, and many businesses will remain closed for the Eid holiday, with public and private sector holidays starting Sunday. In the UAE, the official Eid holiday for the public sector runs from Sunday to Tuesday, while the private sector is expected to observe at least two days off.

Authorities in all three countries have urged residents to follow safety guidelines during celebrations, especially in crowded public areas and mosques. Traffic police have also announced increased patrols to manage congestion around shopping centers and prayer grounds.

With Eid approaching, malls and markets in major cities such as Dubai, Doha, and Kuwait City have seen a surge in activity as residents prepare for festivities, shop for gifts, and stock up on sweets and traditional food.

Other Gulf nations are expected to make their moon-sighting announcements later tonight.
