DXB Sets New Record With 92.3M Travelers in 2024

Dubai International Airport (DXB) has once again proven why it’s the world’s leading international hub, welcoming a record-breaking 92.3 million passengers in 2024—the highest annual traffic in its history. This milestone surpasses the 89.1 million record from 2018 and marks a full decade of DXB dominating the Airports Council International (ACI) list as the busiest airport for international travelers.
A Year of Unstoppable Growth
DXB’s incredible year was fueled by steady growth, culminating in a standout final quarter. December took the crown as the busiest month of 2024, with 8.2 million guests passing through, reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as a top global destination for tourism, business, and investment.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, celebrated the achievement, stating:
“Dubai International (DXB) is a global success story that reflects the UAE’s ability to transform bold ambitions into reality. Its record-breaking passenger traffic is a testament to the relentless pursuit of innovation and excellence that drives the UAE’s progress.”
Dubai’s investment in its aviation sector aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to establish Dubai among the world’s top five logistics hubs and double foreign trade by expanding connections to 400 new cities.

- 2.2 million tonnes of cargo handled, up 20.5% from last year
- 440,300 flight movements, a 5.7% increase from 2023
- 81.2 million bags processed with a 99.45% success rate
- 98.2% of guests waited less than 10 minutes at passport control
