Sunset and Daylight Changes

On the day of the equinox, sunset will be at 6:19 PM, based on the Maghrib prayer timings. Following the equinox, expect shorter days with less daylight.

Continued Warmth

Despite the official end of summer, Dubai will continue to experience high temperatures for a while longer. This is due to the ongoing 40-day transition period, which follows the appearance of the Suhail Star at the end of August.

Reopening of Outdoor Attractions

As the summer season closes, many outdoor attractions, beach clubs, and al fresco dining spots are reopening. The cooler temperatures will bring back opportunities for outdoor activities that had been on hold during the peak summer heat.

This year’s summer solstice, which marked the longest day of 2024, occurred on June 20, lasting 13 hours and 48 minutes. With the arrival of the autumn equinox, the balance of day and night will return, leading to a gradual shift towards cooler weather.
