Dubai’s ambitious "airport city" project, Dubai South, is set to experience a population boom in the coming years. With the construction of a new passenger terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), developers predict that the area’s population will skyrocket from its current 25,000 residents to over one million once the terminal is operational.

New Passenger Terminal and Job Opportunities
The Dh128-billion terminal, located at DWC, is designed to handle the operations currently managed by Dubai International Airport. This development will play a key role in the city’s future growth, with Dubai South anticipated to create up to 500,000 job opportunities. Nabil Al Kindi, CEO of Dubai South Properties, highlighted the demand for residential properties in the area, noting that as more jobs are created, the need for housing will rise.

A Vision for the Future
Dubai South is Dubai’s largest master development, spanning 145 square kilometers. The project is focused on aviation, logistics, and mixed-use communities, providing a seamless transport system linking air, land, and sea. Once the new airport opens, the area will serve as a central hub for both business and residential life, with Al Kindi predicting significant growth in properties, offices, retail spaces, and social infrastructure.

Residential Projects and Growth
The development already offers a variety of residential options, including villas, townhouses, and apartments. Recent launches like The Pulse Apartments, South Bay, and The Pulse Beachfront have seen strong demand, with projects often selling out quickly. Phase 1 of The Pulse Beachfront, with 288 units, has been completed, and another 500 units are set to be delivered by mid-2025.
