Dubai's Hatta Set to Unveil Sustainable Waterfall

In a bid to enhance its natural attractions, Hatta is gearing up to introduce a captivating addition to its scenic landscape: a sustainable waterfall. Promising an exciting venture for both residents and tourists, the upcoming attraction is poised to elevate Hatta's allure as a premier tourist destination in the UAE.

Announced by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls project is set to become a prominent feature of the region's tourism offerings. Once the project receives the necessary approvals, it is anticipated to open its doors to the public by the end of summer, providing visitors with a refreshing retreat amidst Hatta's serene mountain vistas.

Initiated by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the sustainable waterfall project underscores a commitment to environmental sustainability. Leveraging the natural topography of the Al Ghabra dam slope, the project harnesses recycled water, creating a self-sustaining ecosystem that minimizes environmental impact.

Designed to offer more than just a visual spectacle, the waterfall area will feature a picturesque waterway along the parking area, providing visitors with ample photo opportunities. Additionally, the introduction of fish breeding in the stream aims to enhance the overall visitor experience, catering to tourists and families alike.

Complementing the natural beauty of the surroundings, the space will host recreational facilities, including children's play areas, cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops. HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, emphasized the project's role in showcasing the UAE's mountainous regions and bolstering Hatta's position as a key tourism destination in Dubai.

With plans to emulate the success of other iconic landmarks like the Hanging Gardens in Sharjah's Kalba, the sustainable waterfall project aims to attract visitors from far and wide, positioning itself as a major tourist draw in the UAE. Stay tuned for updates on the official opening date, as Hatta prepares to unveil its newest gem to the world.
