Dubai to Transform Expo City into UAE's First 15-Minute City

The Expo City in Dubai will soon be transformed into UAE's first-ever 15-minute city, according to the authorities.

The site will be transformed into a city where attractions, transport links, schools and parks will be within walking distance for residents

The first homes in the 15-minute city will be handed over to owners in the first quarter of 2026.

The work for developing this city is in the process including building villas with paths and hiking trails for the Expo City's residential community.

Construction sites are cordoned off, but Expo City Dubai remains open for events and visitors.

The Expo City authorities have also revealed that they will soon launch sales for land plots for both commercial and residential use.

The 15-minute city will also have its own offices, hospitals, and schools.

Properties have already sold out on the first apartment project, Mangrove Residences. The prices for one-bedroom apartments in the project start at about two million dirhams ($544,590).

The Mangrove Residences has 450 units divided into three buildings and completion is expected by the first quarter of 2026.

Another apartment project Expo Valley has 532 units featuring townhouses, three to four-bedroom villas, and high-end homes.

The villas are already sold out, but they had launch prices from AED 3.4 million to more than AED 15 million.

The villas will be handed over to their owners between the first and third quarters of 2026.

Although the villas are sold, Expo Valley's apartments are still available in the project Sky Residences with prices starting from AED 1.8 million.

The authorities will announce more plot sales on the surrounding Expo site for both residential and commercial purposes.
