Dubai Starts Next Phase of AED400 Million Al Mamzar Project

Dubai is set to take Al Mamzar Beach to the next level with the launch of the second phase of its AED 400 million development project. The new phase focuses on enhancing the beachfront area along Al Mamzar Corniche and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

Dubai Municipality has awarded the contracts for this project in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Women’s Beach for Privacy and Safety

One of the key highlights of the new development is a dedicated public beach for women. Spanning across 125,000 square meters, this beach will offer privacy and safety, featuring a secure gated entrance and fencing. It will also allow night swimming, providing a safe and comfortable environment for women to enjoy the water after dark. Additionally, the beach will offer specialized amenities, including a sports club, commercial services, and children’s play areas.

Diverse Facilities for Everyone

The Al Mamzar Corniche Beach will feature an extensive range of amenities to cater to all visitors. The development will include 1,000 meters of running, walking, and cycling paths that will connect Al Mamzar Creek Beach and Al Mamzar Park. It will also have plenty of green spaces and a 5,000-square-meter area dedicated to seasonal events and activities.

For thrill-seekers, a 2,000-square-meter skateboarding area will be available, along with multiple children’s play areas, restrooms, and beach lounges. To ensure comfort and accessibility, public health and wellness facilities will be set up, including toilets, changing rooms, and showers. The site will also have services for people of determination.

Smart Services for a Seamless Experience

The beach will be equipped with cutting-edge smart services, including AI-powered surveillance systems, drowning rescue technologies, and crowd management tools. Smart luggage lockers will also be available for visitors. These technological advancements are designed to provide a smooth and safe experience for everyone.

Additionally, the project encourages business opportunities with the introduction of waterfront restaurants, food and beverage outlets, beach seating, and spaces for recreational activities. This will not only enhance the beach experience but also contribute to the local economy.

A Vision for the Future

Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, shared that the goal of the project is to redefine the standards for beach design and development. By combining advanced, sustainable infrastructure with modern aesthetics, Dubai aims to position itself as a leader in global beach innovation.

Progress on the First Phase

The first phase of the development, which began in June 2024, has already reached 45% completion. Spanning 275,000 square meters, the first phase includes a pedestrian pontoon bridge that will connect the two banks of Al Mamzar Creek. The bridge, stretching 200 meters in length, will offer easy access for visitors.

Additional Attractions and Features

Other exciting features of the Al Mamzar Beach development include a 300-meter-long night swimming beach, a 5-kilometer walkway, and dedicated running and cycling tracks. There will also be three children’s play areas, two recreational zones, barbecue spots, and jet ski marinas.

In total, the development will feature eight toilet blocks, changing rooms, shower rooms, and 1,400 car parking spaces, ensuring that all visitors can enjoy a convenient and enjoyable experience.
