Dubai Resident Climbs Everest and Reaches Summit of Broad Peak

A mountaineer based in Dubai has achieved a huge milestone by becoming the first Pakistani woman to successfully climb eight of the world's highest mountains. Her latest accomplishment was reaching the summit of Broad Peak, located on the border between Pakistan and China.

On Thursday, Naila Kiani, aged 37, achieved a remarkable feat by reaching the summit of Broad Peak, situated in the Gasherbrum massif of Baltistan. This accomplishment marks her climb of one of the world's 14 mountains that stand taller than 8,000 meters.

Prior to this achievement, Kiani had already successfully climbed other renowned peaks, including K2 and Mount Everest, along with Lhotse and Annapurna in Nepal, as well as Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum I, and Gasherbrum II, all located in Pakistan.

Broad Peak is the 12th highest mountain in the world and adds to an impressive list of summits for Ms Kiani, who took up climbing two years ago, just months after giving birth to her second daughter and quitting her job in finance.

Ms. Naila Kiani achieved three records in a single day: the first Pakistani woman to summit Broad Peak (8,051 meters), climb all of Pakistan's mountains above 8,000 meters, and the first to climb eight of the world's 14 highest mountains.
