Dubai Metro: Nol card Recharging Upgraded

Dubai Metro passengers now have the convenience of recharging their Nol cards using digital payments following the completion of an upgrade to Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

Out of 262 TVMs across metro stations, 165 have been upgraded to facilitate digital payment transactions, reducing transaction times by 40%. These refurbished machines also offer a change in both paper and coin currency formats.

Hassan Al Mutawa, Director of Rail Operations at RTA, emphasized the aesthetic redesign of the TVMs, making them easily identifiable at each station. The upgrades aim to enhance the passenger experience by streamlining transaction processing and catering to customers' needs with the ability to handle banknotes and coins.

Aligned with RTA's vision of becoming a leader in seamless and sustainable mobility, the initiative underscores their commitment to customer satisfaction and innovation. The focus on financial sustainability and operational efficiency includes encouraging the adoption of digital payments, with plans to increase the current 20% segment of Nol users utilizing digital methods on the Dubai Metro. This shift aims to reduce logistical challenges associated with cash handling while ensuring a smoother and faster experience for passengers.
