Dubai Marine Transport to Expand by 188% by 2030

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed has approved a plan to expand and modernize Dubai's marine transport system, with the goal of carrying millions of more passengers by 2030.

Sheikh Hamdan approved a plan to significantly expand the maritime network by 188%, with the goal of serving more than 22 million passengers annually by 2030. This represents a more than 50% increase in passengers from the current level of 14 million.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai will partner with the private sector to develop the world's first 3D-printed electric abra. The authority is also conducting trials for an unmanned self-navigating electric abra.

“I also reviewed an innovative project being developed by RTA in collaboration with the private sector to manufacture the world’s first 3D-printed electric abra,” Sheikh Hamdan posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“I have closely followed the successful trial run of the autonomous abra.”
