Dubai Customs Uncovers 147.4kg Drugs with K9 Team

Dubai Customs, operating under the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, has successfully intercepted a major drug smuggling attempt, seizing 147.4kg of narcotics and psychotropic substances at one of the emirate’s key seaports. This interception is a significant win in the fight against illegal trade and smuggling, preventing dangerous substances from entering the city.

The successful seizure was made possible through the high-level vigilance and operational expertise of Dubai Customs' inspection teams. Using advanced screening systems, the teams detected irregularities in a transiting shipment. A thorough inspection revealed hidden narcotics concealed within the cargo, allowing Dubai Customs to neutralise a serious threat to the city's security before it could make its way into Dubai.

K9 Unit Provides Critical Support

In coordination with other enforcement bodies, including the elite K9 Unit, Dubai Customs confirmed the presence of narcotics. Detection dogs were instrumental in supporting the inspection teams' initial findings, further ensuring the successful interception of the drugs. The case was swiftly handed over for legal processing, in line with Dubai's strict customs regulations and security protocols.
