Dubai Bans 10 Property Owners from Leasing

The Dubai Land Department (DLD) has banned 10 property owners from leasing their properties because of overcrowding and safety issues.

DLD came to this decision after the regulator's partners conducted inspections of the properties.

The said property owners have been banned from leasing and subleasing until they meet health and safety requirements and reduce overcrowding.

In this year only, the DLD  has fined 286 real estate companies and brokers for not abiding by regulations.

In the first half of 2024, Dubai delivered 12,900 apartments and 3,925 villas and another 20,000 apartments and 5,000 will be handed over by the end of the year, according to Asteco.

With the surge in demand for property in recent years, DLD has urged property owners and tenants to follow real estate regulations and laws to avoid violations.
