UAE Bred Baby Sharks Released Into the Ocean

Baby Sharks, who were bred and born at the Aquarium at Atlantis, The Palm, have been released into open water for the first time, their natural environment.

The baby sharks are between 10 months and a year old and were born at the Atlantis Fish Hospital and of course carefully monitored before it a decision was made to release them into the wild.

The sharks that were released were fifteen juvenile Arabian Carpet Sharks and two Honeycomb Stingrays, and were release at the Jebel Ali Wildlife Sanctuary.

And, as known the Jebel Ali Sanctuary is a preserved wetland situated along the coast and made up of coral reefs, mangroves, seagrass beds, and sandy beaches.

Everyone has a part to play in making sure that future generations can enjoy Dubai and the ocean as much as we are able to. We look forward to continuing this initiative with the Dubai Municipality.”
