Zakat Al Fitr in UAE Has Been Set for Ramadan 2025
Council for Fatwa announces mandatory charitable contributions and atonement amounts for missed fasts.

The UAE’s Council for Fatwa has announced the official amount for Zakat Al Fitr for Ramadan 2025, setting it at Dh25 per person or 2.5kg of rice, ensuring aid reaches those in need before Eid.

Zakat Al Fitr is a mandatory charitable contribution required from all financially able Muslims—men, women, and children—before the end of Ramadan.
Atonement for Missed Fasts
The council also detailed expiation (fidyah) rules for those unable to fast:
🔹 Breaking a fast intentionally – Dh15 per day for 60 people (total: Dh900) or 3.25kg of wheat per person.
🔹 Unable to fast – Dh15 per missed day or 3.25kg of wheat.
🔹 Missed fasts of a deceased person – Dh15 per day or 3.25kg of wheat, paid by their family.
🔹 Delaying a makeup fast without excuse – Dh15 per missed day or 3.25kg of wheat.
🔹 False oath while fasting – Dh15 per person for 10 people (total: Dh150) or 3.25kg of wheat per person.
The council urges Muslims to fulfill their obligations promptly to ensure their contributions reach those in need on time.
