YouTube: Plans to Raise the Premium Version Subscriptions

YouTube started supporting 4K videos in 2010 before this resolution became as popular as it is now, then it started supporting 8K resolution in 2015; Watching videos in these two Ultra HD videos was available to everyone while earlier this year, YouTube decided to test the possibility of depriving free users to watch 4K videos, in order to encourage users to subscribe to YouTube Premium.
YouTube Premium Features Overview
The Premium version features include canceling ads, watching videos offline, playing videos in the background on Android devices, and accessing YouTube Music, and originals.
In the US, Google charges $9.99 per month for YouTube Music and $11.99 per month for YouTube Premium. These rates vary around the world in proportion to the value of each country's currency.
YouTube Reverses Its Decision
Google has announced that it has reversed its decision to limit viewing of 4K videos on YouTube to YouTube Premium subscribers only, without revealing the reasons behind it, but it is expected that the negative reaction it faced from users is the reason for its reversal.
