The 2024 Henley Passport Index reveals an unprecedented six countries sharing the top spot, including Japan, France, Germany, Italy, Singapore, and Spain.

These nations offer visa-free access to 194 destinations. South Korea, Finland, and Sweden rank second with access to 193 destinations. The UK, alongside Belgium, Luxembourg, Norway, and Portugal, has risen to fourth place, providing visa-free travel to 191 nations.

The US holds the seventh spot with access to 188 destinations. UAE has ranked 11th in 2024 with 183 visa-free destinations.

Over the past decade, the United Arab Emirates has experienced significant growth on the index, adding 106 destinations to its visa-free score since 2014, securing the 11th position this year.

Afghanistan holds the least powerful passport, granting access to only 28 destinations. The gap between the most and least powerful passports has significantly widened since the index's inception, with the top-ranked countries having access to 166 more destinations than Afghanistan. The ranking is based on official data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
