Women's T20: Australia Defeats Pakistan by 9 Wickets

Australia defeated Pakistan by nine wickets in the group stage match of the Women's T20 World Cup at the Dubai International Stadium on Friday, Oct. 11.

The Australian team won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Pakistani team were all out at 82 runs in 19.5 overs, which is the lowest score scored at the cricket tournament this year. Australia's Ashleigh Gardner took four wickets, Annabel Sutherland took two, and Georgia Wareham took two wickets, which stopped the Pakistani team from securing more runs. 

When it was the Aussies' turn to bat, the team scored 83 runs in 11 overs with Alyssa Healy scoring 37 runs, Ellyse Perry scoring 22 runs, and Beth Mooney scoring 15 runs. 

Australia, the defending champions and six-time tournament winners, have won all three of their opening matches, while the Pakistani team have won only one match out of three.

Gardner was named 'Player of the Match' for her excellent bowling. Australia have their next match against India, while Pakistan's next match is scheduled against New Zealand.
