The UAE National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a warning on Friday regarding a tropical depression that is projected to intensify into a tropical storm during the next 24 hours in the southern Arabian Sea.
According to the Met Department, the meteorological disturbance will not directly affect the nation, but the passage of moisture from the Arabian Sea will cause cumulus clouds to form and be accompanied by rain.
Some areas of the country are anticipated to see rain from the weekend until Tuesday, October 24th, according to an earlier weather forecast by the NCM.
The next four days are expected to be humid with a potential of morning fog or mist forming over some interior and coastal areas.
The day will generally be sunny and partly cloudy, although residents of the eastern region are urged to prepare for afternoon rain due to the development of convective clouds.
A tropical depression emerges when a low-pressure system is accompanied by thunderstorms, generating a circular wind pattern with maximum sustained winds below 62 kph. It advances to a tropical storm when the cyclonic circulation becomes better organized, characterized by maximum sustained winds exceeding 63 kph.
It is also anticipated that the southeasterly wind will be mild to moderate, but that it may occasionally alter and go up to 40 kph of dust at times.
