The UAE mourned the passing of Sheikh Hazza bin Sultan bin Zayed on Thursday, May 9.
Who Was Sheikh Hazza bin Sultan?
He was a member of the ruling family of the UAE and son of the late Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan who was the son of UAE's Founding Father Sheikh Zayed and the President's Representative to the late President Sheikh Khalifa.
Sheikh Sultan was the brother of the UAE President Sheikh Mohamed, making Sheikh Hazza the nephew of the UAE ruler.
Sheikh Hazza was well-known in equestrian circles for his exceptional horse-riding skills. He supported the Butheeb International Endurance Village and led the Warsan Stables to glory with his equestrian expertise.
The royal was also known for his distinctive poetic style. Sheikh Hazza supported creativity in culture and literature as well.

He was also interested in Emirati heritage and was keen on instilling an appreciation of tradition in the youth.
Funeral prayers were offered for Sheikh Hazza on Thursday, which were attended by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed and other royals and officials.
