Qatar is getting ready for a schedule of major events and projects in 2023–2024. We have compiled a list of upcoming activities, endeavors, and locations (arranged alphabetically).

AFC Asian Cup 2023™

Qatar was named the winning bid to host the AFC Asian Cup 2023TM on October 17, 2022. After 1988 and 2011, this will be Qatar's third time hosting the event. The event will occur from June 16 through July 16, 2023.

Expo 2023 Doha Qatar

The Middle East and North Africa's first-ever horticultural exhibition will take place during Expo 2023 in Doha, Qatar. Three million people from all around the world are anticipated to attend the expo, which will begin on October 14, 2023, and last for 179 days.

Formula 1 - Qatar Grand Prix

2023 is the year for those F1 racing enthusiasts in Qatar! After its debut in 2021, the Qatar Grand Prix will return in 2023. From October 6–8, 2022, the tournament will take place at the Losail International Circuit.

Geneva International Motor Show Qatar 2023

The Geneva International Motor Show is a venue for the display of cars. The Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) will play host to the inaugural Geneva International Motor Show Qatar from November 1–30, 2023.

Hamad International Airport Expansion - Final Phase

By January 2023, the last stage of the Hamad International Airport development will get underway. The airport's capacity will rise to accommodate more than 65 million people a year as a result of the development.

ITT (Institute of Travel Tourism) Conference

ITT Members and influential figures from the UK travel and tourism business attend the ITT Conference, a prominent event of the travel industry.

The conference, which is open to ITT Members such as tour operators, travel agencies, airlines, hotels, cruise lines, tourism offices, and more, will take place from June 4–7. Attendance is open to other professionals working in the travel and tourism industry.

Mega-solar power plants

On August 23, 2022, Qatar Energy made a big announcement about their partnership with Samsung C&T to build two massive solar power facilities there. The 10-square-kilometer IC Solar project is anticipated to cost around QR 2.3 billion.

By the end of 2024, solar power plants should begin generating electricity.

Oberoi Doha West Bay

The city hotel operated by the Indian-owned Oberoi premium hospitality brand will open in Qatar at the Mozoon Towers under construction. The hotel will offer 45 serviced apartments in addition to 237 rooms and suites.

Its debut dates haven't been made public yet.

Qatar Auto Museum

In 2023, the eagerly anticipated Qatar Auto Museum is projected to open its doors to auto aficionados. Under the umbrella of Qatar Museums, this museum is projected to be a space for Qatar's car community to come together.
