Ramadan is a time for spiritual reflection and worship, and then comes Eid al-Fitr, which is a festival of breaking the fast at the end of Ramadan.
What is Fasting?
By fasting, we mean that they don't eat or drink from dawn to sunset for the whole month; sometimes they fast for 30 days and sometimes for 29 days, and it's all according to the moon.
Fasting is one of Islam's five pillars, which means that it’s a must for all Muslims besides children, pregnant women, and ill or travelers.
Muslims have two main meals in Ramadan (Futoor and Suhoor), Futoor is the meal Muslims eat to break their fast, and Suhoor is a light meal before the fasting begins (Pre-dawn).
There are many nullifications of fasting, such as cursing.
What is Zakat?
Zakat is a portion of one's wealth paid to deserving people at the end of Ramadan.
It is meant to be given to the people in need to help them celebrate the blessings of Eid, and it's often given during the month of Ramadan or at Eid al-Fitr.
Islam teaches its believers to help the community's needy people by paying Zakat.
