Following heavy rains that pounded throughout the country, teams from the Dubai Police were able to save two elderly citizens from cars that were on the brink of being overtaken by floodwaters in Hatta.
Teams from the marine rescue division of the Ports Police Station and the land rescue unit at the Hatta Police Station successfully towed away five automobiles that had become stuck in a valley, despite the challenging weather circumstances.

Rescue crews moved swiftly to save the cars, according to Brigadier Dr. Hassan Suhail Al Suwaidi, Commander of the Hatta Sector. Two senior passengers, both older than sixty, were on board.
The authorities requested residents to avoid valleys and hilly regions and urged drivers to take note of the warnings issued due to the weather.
