Is Virat Kohli Flying Home due to Anushka Sharma's Pregnancy?

After becoming the first batsman to achieve 50 ODI centuries, Virat Kohli characterized the moment as "the perfect picture." This historic feat occurred during a World Cup semi-final against New Zealand, a match where he played in front of his wife, Anushka Sharma, and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, whose record he surpassed.

Amid the ongoing World Cup 2023 semi-final between India and New Zealand at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, a touching moment unfolded when Virat Kohli, on the field, blew a flying kiss to his wife, Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma. This endearing gesture, reciprocated by Anushka, swiftly made waves on social media. Following this heartwarming exchange, the couple shared more flying kisses as Kohli secured his 50th century in the match.

Reflecting on his innings in a post-match interaction, Virat Kohli expressed his sentiments, stating, “It’s the stuff of dreams. Sachin Paaji is there, and Anushka is sitting there. It’s very difficult for me to explain this but if I paint a perfect picture I would want this to be the picture. My life partner, the person I love the most is sitting there, my hero is there (Sachin), and all the fans at Wankhede, such a historic venue so it was amazing.”

Virat Kohli's historic century in the World Cup semi-final against New Zealand didn't just mark the breaking of one record; it shattered multiple milestones, including surpassing Sachin Tendulkar's previous records. One significant achievement was Kohli surpassing Tendulkar for the most runs in a single edition of the ODI World Cup. Tendulkar's record of 673 runs in the 2003 World Cup was overtaken by Kohli when he reached his 80th run in Wednesday's semi-final. In a remarkable turn, Kohli not only surpassed Tendulkar but also became the first batter to amass 700 runs in a single ODI World Cup.

As Kohli was dismissed for a stellar 117 off 113 balls, he had accumulated a remarkable 711 runs in the tournament, boasting an impressive average of 101.57 and a strike rate of 90.68. This century marked Kohli's third in this World Cup, complementing his performance with five half-centuries in ten matches.

The extraordinary run-scoring display by Kohli further solidified his legacy as one of the premier batsmen in the cricketing world.
