The US submitted a draft resolution to the UN Security Council calling for an 'immediate ceasefire linked to the release of hostages' in the Gaza Strip, said the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
This resolution has come after the US vetoed the UN Security Council's resolutions calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Arab nations also put a draft resolution to vote in February, however, Israel did not support it and put forth a rival draft instead.
The US Secretary of State announced the new draft during his visit to Saudi Arabia where he met the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah.

Blinken will meet Arab foreign ministers and a Palestinian official on Thursday in Cairo to discuss the ceasefire.
The US Secretary of State explained that he would use his regional tour to discuss arrangements for governance, security, and redevelopment of Gaza after the conflict.
Blinken was also asked about the humanitarian efforts in Gaza and he said, "Israel needs to open up more access points to Gaza. We’ve seen some progress there, including a new access point that was opened just about a week ago.”
Blinken is set to travel to Israel on Friday to discuss with the country's leaders the hostages held in Gaza, humanitarian aid, and other things.
