As of February 28th, Abu Dhabi authorities have introduced a new fare system for public transport, unifying fees for city and suburban bus routes.

The Standard Service fare includes an AED 2.00 boarding fee plus 5 fils per kilometer. Users can transfer between buses without an extra boarding fee for up to two transfers within 60 minutes. Pass options now cover Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra, with a weekly pass costing AED 35 and a 30-day pass at AED 95.
Emirati families with limited income under social support programs can access subsidized passes, priced at AED 30 for seven days and AED 80 for 30 days.
Annual free passes for seniors, and people of determination, with a plus one, and the AED 500 student annual pass remain unchanged. Children aged 10 and below still enjoy free transportation.
