Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi Announces Official Opening Date

The BAPS Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi, the first Indian temple-style Hindu shrine in the UAE and Middle East, is scheduled to open its doors to the public on March 1, 2024. This follows the inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last February 14 during his visit to the UAE.

Opening Hours and Closure Days

The temple will welcome the public from 9 AM to 8 PM starting March 1. However, it will remain closed for visitors every Monday, as confirmed by a temple spokesperson.

Prior Access for Devotees and VIP Guests

From February 15 to 29, overseas devotees who pre-registered and VIP guests had the opportunity to visit the temple, leading up to the official public opening.

Grand Inauguration Event

The grand opening, officiated by PM Modi, coincided with Basant Panchami and attracted over 5,000 invitees. The event marked a historic moment in the region's religious landscape.

Unique Architectural Features

Situated on a 27-acre plot in Abu Mureikhah, near Al Rahba, the temple stands out with its unique architecture. Constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 700 crore, it features the Nagara style, reminiscent of the recently inaugurated Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

More than 1.8 million cubic meters of sandstone from Rajasthan were used in the temple's construction, contributing to its distinctive Nagara architectural style.
