Archer Aviation announced the recruitment and training of pilots for its electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft in the UAE. The U.S.-based company has partnered with Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Aviation Training (EAT) to prepare pilots for the launch of its air taxi services next year.
Significant Investment and Infrastructure
Archer secured major investments from Abu Dhabi to manufacture its Midnight aircraft locally and establish international headquarters in the UAE. This includes building vertiports in key locations to support the commercial launch.
Reduced Commute Times
Archer’s Midnight aircraft, designed for quick, back-to-back flights, will cut travel times from 60-90 minutes by car to 10-20 minutes by air.
Local Expertise and Compliance
EAT will ensure pilot training meets the standards set by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and other local authorities. The partnership aims to develop a robust urban air mobility network in the UAE.
