This network is a joint venture between the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) and Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE), which aims to install 100 charging units by the end of 2024.
The network is expected to expand to 1,000 charging units by the end of 2030.
This initiative will help reduce 100,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions by 2030, which is equivalent to planting 1.8 million trees.
UAEV will have 160kW fast-charging points, which will be accessible to all community members.
The charging will be free of cost until the end of 2024 and the price points will be finalized later on.
The EV charging stations will be deployed in public spaces, workplaces, shopping centers, and residential areas.
