Days will become shorter and nights longer as autumn begins in the UAE, and days and nights will be of equal length on October 2 and 3.
The autumnal equinox, which occurred on September 23, is the day when the Sun is directly over the Earth's equator. This means that the Northern and Southern Hemispheres receive equal amounts of sunlight, resulting in days and nights of equal length.
However, due to atmospheric refraction and other factors, the actual date on which days and nights are of equal length varies depending on location. In the UAE, this date is typically about seven to 10 days after the September equinox, which this year means October 2-3.
