The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has significantly reduced the processing time for work permits and residency visas from 30 days to just five days. The number of required documents has also been decreased from 16 to five.
Launch of Work Bundle Platform
To facilitate these changes, the UAE government has introduced the "Work Bundle" platform. This platform aims to simplify the hiring process for business owners and private companies and streamline visa renewals for existing employees.
Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme
The Work Bundle is part of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme, offering a unified platform that simplifies application procedures for employers. It is projected to save around 62 million working hours at government offices and reduce office visits by 25 million.
Three-Phase Rollout
- Phase One: The platform, launched in March, is currently available to Dubai-based companies across all seven emirates.
- Phase Two: It will expand to cover approximately 600,000 companies and over seven million workers.
- Phase Three: The final phase will extend the platform to include domestic workers.
Future Access
At present, the Work Bundle platform can be accessed via its website, workinuae.ae, with a mobile app expected to launch soon.
