Due to the unpredictable weather conditions, the UAE is adapting to remote work and schooling measures today, November 17, 2023.
In Ras Al Khaimah, government schools will switch to remote learning, ensuring the safety of both students and staff. A similar decision has been made in Umm Al Quwain, where the local Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management team, in collaboration with the Umm Al Quwain Educational District and the Emirates School Education Foundation, has directed public and private schools to adopt remote learning. Nurseries are also closing for safety reasons, and universities and colleges are advised to implement flexible work systems, coordinating with students accordingly.
Additionally, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MOHRE) in the UAE is urging private companies across the country to adopt flexible work schedules. The ministry emphasizes the need for companies to take necessary measures to ensure full compliance with health and safety requirements, especially for workers commuting to and from outdoor work locations.
The Ministry calls on private sector companies across the UAE to apply flexible work patterns tomorrow, 17th November, given the current weather conditions.
