UAE Send Aid and Rescue Teams to Libya

President of the UAE Sheikh Mohamed has confirmed that the UAE will send aid and search and rescue teams to Libya amidst the floods caused by Storm Daniel.
The aid and rescue teams will support the country's efforts in rescuing people and mitigating the damages caused by the floods.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed also offered his sincerest condolences to the people of Libya and the victims of the devastating tragedy.
Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid shared his condolences on X "May God protect Libya and its people from all harm … and maintain their security and safety."
Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan also sent his condolences, "Our sincere condolences to our people in Libya for the victims of the hurricane and catastrophic floods, and we ask God for a speedy recovery for those injured."
At least 150 people have been confirmed dead, while 2,000 people are feared to be dead.
The Libyan Red Crescent expect the death toll to rise to 250.
Many residential blocks were swept away by the floods along Wadi Derna and a multi-storey building partially collapsed.
The power was cut across the city of Derna.
Interior Minister of the East Libya government Essam Abu Zeriba shared that more than 5,000 people were thought to be missing in Derna.
Other than UAE, Qatar and Tunisia will also provide aid to Libya to help the country in this difficult time.
