Dubai Private Schools Allowed Remote Learning This Week

In the wake of the UAE's recent unprecedented weather conditions, which saw the country experience its heaviest rainfall in 75 years, educational institutions across the Emirates have made the decision to extend remote learning for students.

The move comes as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of both students and teaching staff.

The decision to continue remote learning was announced on April 17th via official channels, with public and private schools opting to conduct classes online on Thursday, April 18th, and Friday, April 19th. This extension aims to mitigate any potential risks posed by the aftermath of the heavy rainfall, which has resulted in widespread flooding and disruption to normal daily activities.

Additionally, the Directorate of Human Resources Sharjah has issued a directive for remote work to continue on April 18th, 2024, due to the lingering effects of the weather. While this directive applies to all employees in Sharjah government departments, certain essential roles requiring on-site presence are exempted.

The aftermath of the recent rainfall has led to significant challenges across the UAE, with roads flooded, transportation services disrupted, and businesses forced to close temporarily. The Dubai Metro system was affected, and airports experienced delays and cancellations as a result of the adverse weather conditions.

While the weather situation gradually improves, authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates and guidance to the public as necessary. In the meantime, residents are encouraged to stay informed, follow safety precautions.
