As Eid Al Adha nears, individuals residing in the UAE can use the upcoming long holiday to travel internationally. To avoid lengthy queues for passport procedures, residents can choose to visit countries that provide e-Visas instead.
During Eid Al Adha, individuals holding a UAE residence visa and passport have the option to visit Japan, Albania, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman. However, it is important to note that the process for obtaining an e-Visa differs for each country.
In April, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan announced that residents of the UAE can now travel to Japan by applying for a 90-day e-Visa. This new guideline also applies to foreign nationals residing in Saudi Arabia.
Applications for short-term tourist visas can be submitted through Japan's official e-Visa platform at www.evisa.mofa.go.jp. The tourist visa allows a stay of up to 90 days and remains valid for three months from the day after issuance.
As per the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the visa issuance fee for UAE residents is JPY 3,000, equivalent to approximately AED 80. Indian nationals, on the other hand, are required to pay a visa fee of AED 20. However, certain nationalities may be exempt from paying the visa fee or may qualify for a reduced fee.
