UAE President Orders Release of 988 Prisoners for Eid Al Adha

UAE's President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan ordered the release of 988 prisoners ahead of Eid Al Adha on Wednesday, Jun. 21.
Each year, Sheikh Mohamed grants these pardons because of the generous spirit of the Eid festival.
The President had also ordered the release of 1,025 prisoners before the holy month of Ramadan.
Prisoners are released so that they can rebuild their lives and reunite with family and loved ones.
Other rulers of the Emirates also order the release of prisoners on religious occasions, including Eid Al Adha.
The Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid had also pardoned 971 prisoners ahead of the month of Ramadan.
