UAE Plans to Launch Faster and Cheaper EV Charging Stations

The UAE plans to introduce faster and inexpensive EV charging stations.
The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Al Mazrouei explained that the Emirates is planning to implement new legislation, which will decrease charging times, but it will maintain high efficiency and a reasonable price.
Al Mazrouei was at the World Utilities Conference 2023 where he shared that the number of EV charging outlets will be increased to 800 stations in the coming year.
The UAE has converted a fifth of its government agency cars into EVs and the country aims to have 42,000 EVs on the road by 2030.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority are planning to implement 1,000 public charging stations in Dubai alone by 2025.
ADNOC Distribution and Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (Taqa) have started a venture to build and operate EV infrastructure in Abu Dhabi. The venture will also include a network of fast chargers at important locations.
The capital is estimated to require 70,000 charging points in 2030 with an investment of up to $200 million to meet the growing demand for EVs.
