UAE citizens interested in performing Hajj in 2025 can start registering today, September 19. The registration period will be open until September 30.
How to Register
Registration can be completed through the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat (Awqaf UAE) via their smart app or website.
Eligibility Requirements
To register, applicants must be:
- UAE citizens
- At least 12 years old
- Have not performed Hajj in the last five seasons
Priority will be given to individuals who are going for the first time, those with serious medical conditions, the elderly, and their companions.
Quota and Permits
For the 2025 pilgrimage, the UAE has a quota of 6,228 slots, as allocated by Saudi Arabian authorities. Awqaf UAE will work with Saudi officials to issue Hajj permits and ‘Nusuk’ cards, providing necessary services including medical, legal, and logistical support.
Support and Guidance
Awqaf UAE will evaluate Haj campaigns and the teams involved to ensure high standards. In the coming months, awareness initiatives will be launched to guide pilgrims. Dedicated hotlines will also be available for support during the season.
Current Trends
This year, approximately 1.8 million people performed Hajj, with 1.6 million coming from outside Saudi Arabia. Hajj is a key pillar of Islam, required at least once for Muslims who are able.
Additional Information
Typically, Haj permits are issued only to Emiratis. Expats must follow their home country's procedures for pilgrimage. Pilgrims often use licensed tour operators, who provide packages covering visas, accommodation, transport, and meals. A list of approved operators is available on the Awqaf UAE website.
