The United Arab Emirates launched phase one of the largest hospital in Shabwa Governorate, Yemen.
The launch of the public hospital is part of the UAE’s humanitarian initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people, by supporting the country’s deteriorating health sector.
Shabwa is the third largest governorate in Yemen, comprising 17 districts.
A source from the foundation said the UAE’s international humanitarian and developmental projects have supported the process of comprehensive development and improved the lives of peoples globally, especially in the field of healthcare.
The hospital will have a total of 350 beds, with phase one including 100 fully equipped beds, while the second phase will add 250 more beds.
